Telecom Italia, sparks on the Stock Exchange: Vivendi wants Genish in the role of Dg

Telecom Italia is the best stock of the Ftse Mib in the afternoon: the Italian telecommunications group gains almost 3% on the Milan Stock Exchange thanks to the decision taken yesterday by S&P of improve the outlook from stable to positive, with the rating confirmed at BB+, thanks to the progress in terms of operating performance and cash generation. But that's not all: the sparks on the Stock Exchange can also be explained by the imminent board of directors, scheduled for July 27, which in addition to approving the half-yearly report could represent the showdown between the current CEO Flavio Cattaneo and the main shareholder Vivendi.

Precisely the French group, which did not like Cattaneo's muscular policy towards the Government, makes no secret of wanting to install in a key position (probably the general management) the Israeli Amos Genish, current Chief Convergence Officer of the French group and former manager of the subsidiary of Telefonica in Brazil. Genish's name had already emerged the day before yesterday in some rumors reported by Bloomberg, as one of the leaders of the triumvirate (with Giuseppe Recchi and Arnaud de Puyfontaine, respectively current vice president and executive president of Telecom) who would lead the former monopolist if the conflicts with the current Ad Flavio Cattaneo were not resolved.
