Telecom Italia, Patuano: review current network access model

According to the CEO of Telecom Italia, the equivalence of output model evolved to date, which guarantees equal access to the Telecom network by the operators, “has given results in line with or better than expected. Telecom Italia, Patuano: review current network access model

“The network is not subject to spin-off”. This was stated today by the managing director of Telecom Italia, Marco Patuano, speaking on the sidelines of a conference. During the same appointment, the outgoing commissioner for the digital Agenda Francesco Caio announced that "the Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, has requested a detailed briefing on the network and the digital Agenda to be organized by the end of the month".

According to Patuano, the equivalence of output model evolved to date, which guarantees equal access to the Telecom network by the operators, “has given results in line with or exceeding expectations. We are very much in favor of a comprehensive review of the indicator system, and therefore of an evolution of the model, which once strengthened and shared by all can cost less. The model of separation of the access network based on the equivalence of output has provided adequate guarantees but the positive effects on the market have not yet fully unfolded”.
