Telecom Italia will challenge the Consob decision on French control

Telecom Italia doesn't agree and will challenge the recent Consob decision which establishes the de facto control of the French of Vivendi over the Italian telephone company. This was decided by the majority of the Telecom board meeting in extraordinary session.

Now Consob's decision has been sent to the French authorities: if they were to confirm it, Vivendi will be required to consolidate Telecom Italia's debt.

While clearly opposing Consob's orientation and opposing it on the basis of the technical opinion of authoritative jurists such as Sabino Cassese and Andrea Zoppini, Telecom - according to what is reported in an official note - will ensure "full compliance by the company with the discipline that the qualification carried out in this way entails ”, such as a greater role of independent directors.
