Flavio Cattaneo is the new CEO of Telecom Italia. The current number one of Ntv, former director of the telecommunications company will lead the group alongside the president Giuseppe Recchi. The appointment took place during today's extraordinary board meeting, which was also attended by the four members of Vivendi.
Recchi will take care of the group's development guidelines, supervise strategic, industrial and financial plans, implement them and develop them. The president will also have the task of supervising the definition of the organizational structures, the Security and obviously also the supervision of Telecom Italia Sparkle.
Cattaneo will have the responsibilities of the overall governance of the company and of the group, including that of defining, proposing to the board and implementing the strategic, industrial and financial plans, as well as all the organizational responsibilities to guarantee the management and development of the business in Italy and in the South America.
Cattaneo's appointment came during the board meeting which had been convened to select the name of the manager who was to replace Marco Patuano, who resigned last week.
The new CEO of Telecom Italia, architect, born in 63, has been CEO of the Ntv group since February 2015. In December 2014 he became an independent director of Generali and since April 2014 he has held the same position on the board of the telecommunications company. Not to forget his almost ten-year experience (from November 2005 to May 2014) in Terna, where he occupied the position of managing director. Previously, from April 2003 to August 2005, he was director general of Rai. Cattaneo is married to actress Sabrina Ferilli.
On the Stock Exchange, the Telecom Italia stock fluctuates after the appointment of the new CEO. This morning the shares rose by 3%, then over the course of the hours they passed into negative ground, losing 0,2%. Currently, the increase is equal to 0,4%, settling at 0,96 euro.
