The relationship between Flavio Cattaneo and Telecom Italia could soon end in a sensational divorce. This is what the authoritative agency Bloomberg maintains, according to which the line of confrontation with the Government and with Open Fiber on the ultra-broadband held by Cattaneo does not at all please the French of Vivendi, who are the main shareholders of the telephone company.
Cattaneo is allegedly negotiating his exit from Telecom Italia which could take place in a short time, i.e. after the approval of the group's first half 2017 accounts, scheduled for next July 27th.
If Cattaneo were to leave Telecom, Vivendi - which already has the president in the person of Arnaud de Puyfontaine who would have the main powers - would aim to appoint a Brazilian top manager as the new general manager of the telephone company, Amos Genish, who has achieved great success in Brazil phone.
The anticipated divorce from Telecom Italia would in any case guarantee Cattaneo a severance pay of around 40 million euros.
