Telecom Italia: US Ambassador visits the Working Capital accelerator, a startup laboratory

John Philips, US ambassador to Italy, today visited the Working Capital accelerator in Rome, one of the four spaces in the Telecom Italia structure dedicated to digital innovation – In the presence of Giuseppe Recchi and Marco Patuano, president and CEO of Telecom, Philips he chatted with the startuppers who frequent the accelerator.

The US ambassador to Italy, John Philips, today visited the Working Capital accelerator in Rome, one of the four spaces in the Telecom Italia structure dedicated to digital innovation.

In addition to the capital, the Working Capital accelerators are also present in Milan, Bologna and Catania, with over 2.500 square meters in total dedicated to digital innovation. The program offers the startups selected in this edition 40 grants of 25 thousand euros and as many acceleration and mentorship paths, together with the technical or infrastructural resources necessary for their growth and launch on the market.

The ambassador, in the presence of Giuseppe Recchi and Marco Patuano, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Italia, spoke with the startuppers who frequent the accelerator and met with the main representatives of the Italian innovation ecosystem on the most important issues related to the future of the digital economy.

In particular, the opportunity to share best practices in terms of public investments in innovation or corporate venture programs and corporate entrepreneurship programs emerged, as well as to provide visibility to emerging startups.

In addition to Telecom Italia's top management, the main national protagonists of the digital innovation ecosystem took part in the meeting: from the institutional representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Lazio Region, Confindustria, to the founders of successful startups such as Pedius, Oilproject, Starteed, Eco4Cloud, Pan Pan. But also the representatives of the major international foundations involved in Venture Capital (Kauffman Society, Mind The Bridge, Startup Europe), and those of the main investment funds in the sector (Principia SGR, Nana Bianca, B. Ventures, Net Value – United Ventures, Italian Angels for Growth).
