The communication comes at the request of Consob after rumors circulated during the day about a possible new offer coming from a consortium formed by the Clessidra fund and Diego Della Valle.

Telecom confirms: "We will sell La7 in Cairo"

Telecom Italy Media "confirm the path already defined" with Cairo Communication on the sale of La7. The company underlines this in a note in response to a request from Consob.

On 27 February, Telecom Italia Media decided to "adjourn the final approval of the transaction to the next board meeting (scheduled for Monday 4 March, ed), as the definition of some contractual aspects is still being finalised".

An indiscretion had circulated this morning about a consortium formed by Claudio Sposito's Clessidra fund and the entrepreneur Diego Della Valle, who could have presented a new offer in extremis for Telecom Italia Media assets, with La7 in the lead. Clessidra's previous offer had been rejected by the Board of Directors of Telecom Italia (which controls TI Media), while Della Valle's had not even been taken into consideration because it arrived "too late", by which time negotiations had been underway for eight months.

But that's not all: according to reports from "La Stampa", yesterday morning also Guido Veneziani, president of the publishing group of the same name which includes periodicals such as Vero and Stop, had presented a binding offer to the president of TI Media, Severino Salvemini, for La7 , A7d and 51% of MTV.
