Elio Cosimo Catania resigned yesterday from the board of directors of Telecom Italia. This was communicated by the company, explaining that in the letter of resignation Catania specified that it had taken the decision to resign from the office "in order to allow the smooth running of the Board's activities, in such a complex phase for the company, and of the the work of the investigators, in reiterating the full correctness of my conduct".
Catania was an independent director, sat on the executive committee and was chairman of the control and risk committee and of the nomination and remuneration committee.
