Telecom, Bernabè: "Important benefits from integration with 3 Italia"

Franco Bernabè, executive chairman of Telecom Italia, illustrated in his opening speech at the shareholders' meeting the benefits of a possible integration with 3 Italia: "There are industrial synergies that lead to cost reductions in terms of commercial structures and development of LTE networks, to which are added the benefits of two complementary customer bases".

And right thereo development of new generation networks, for Bernabè, is Telecom's first objective, also to reduce the European lag compared to the United States and Japan. For this reason, the telephone company relies heavily on agreements with 3 Italia and negotiates with Cassa depositi e prestiti to accelerate those investments which "would allow for a significant acceleration of Piani development of the new generation networks envisaged in the business plan".

According to Bernabè, it is essential that the European sector of mobile network services, so fragmented, undergoes a consolidation and it is precisely in this direction, evidently, that Telecom intends to move. Operations of this kind, according to the executive chairman, represent "important opportunities for the group which naturally need to be explored" and which could bring improvements to the prospects of both the mobile and fixed sectors.

Meanwhile, in the late morning the Telecom share gained 0,41% in Piazza Affari, at 0,6135 euros per share.
