Telecom: agreement for exodus 170 managers

The managers will leave their jobs by 31 December 2018, they will be identified mainly with the criterion of proximity to retirement and will be able to benefit from an amount of 50 thousand euros for the reunification of contributions or for the redemption of the degree.

Telecom Italy e Federmanager have signed a trade union agreement for the exodus of 170 managers, as part of the mobility procedure activated by the company pursuant to the legislation on collective redundancies.

Managers who will leave their jobs by the 31 December 2018, explains a note from Federmanager, will mainly be identified with the criterion of proximity to retirement, also on the basis of the slide provided for by article 4 of the Fornero Law, and will be able to benefit from an amount of 50 euros for the contribution reunification or for the redemption of the degree.

In addition, it will be possible to access a shared exit package between the parties for the voluntary resolution that guarantees an integration to the severance indemnity up to a maximum of 20 months, in addition to the advance notice required by the collective bargaining agreement for industry executives.

The agreement concerns “a redundancy plan that was necessary to allow cost reduction – explains Telecom – while guaranteeing generational turnover within a process of profound reorganization and simplification of the structures started by the company. The qualitative and quantitative dimensioning of executives assumes an essential role and constitutes the prerequisite for future valorisation and development processes” of internal managerial resources.

“The sacrifice of so many colleagues must serve the enhancement of managerial resources who continue to work to give perspective to an important Italian technological asset and we have written it in black and white”, says the president Federmanager, Stefano Cuzzilla.

“The agreement – ​​he continues – is also aimed at promote generational change to the extent that this actually meets the criterion of competence by promoting, without recourse to other figures, the high-profile internal resources who, precisely at the moment in which a restructuring phase opens, prove to be the most useful for allowing the relaunch ".

For Cuzzilla, “the agreement reached allows us to accompany the exit avoiding further traumatic effects compared to a situation that was urgently asked of us and with no room for maneuver on the number of redundancies. Our management faces a substantial cost whose impact was contained by the agreement signed today. Every three months we will verify its implementation with the involvement of our RSA and in the interest of every single manager”.

The parties, specifies Telecom, have agreed to start a collective procedure pursuant to law 223/1991 ensuring certain and homogeneous economic treatment for all the executives involved. Furthermore, for the period in force of the agreement, the company, in derogation from the Employment Contract, will recognize non-retireable executives who voluntarily adhere to the agreement a redundancy incentive commensurate with the years of service provided.
