Telco: Thursday Board of Directors on Telecom, for now no names to propose in the meeting

telco announces that a board meeting will be held on Thursday to discuss the vote in the Telecom Italia shareholders' meeting, scheduled for the following day, and the indication of any names for the board of directors of the telecommunications group.

In any case, the holding company, a shareholder of Telecom with 22,4% has not "at the moment taken any decision" - reads a note - on the possible candidates to be proposed in the meeting, in the event that, with the revocation of the Board, it was necessary to integrate the board.

On Thursday's board "resolutions will be discussed and taken - continues the communication, released at the request of Consob - in relation to the vote to be expressed in the Telecom Italia meeting on the number, emoluments and deadline for appointing the investee's board, as well as on the decision to propose a list of names for any need to integrate the board itself”.

Finally, Telco specifies that it “has no consideration whatsoever with reference to the fact that, if a number of directors were to remain equal to 15, some of these would not be appointed on the basis of list voting. In this regard, Telco will comply with Telecom Italia's statutory provisions in force and with the resolutions of the shareholders' meeting”.

On 23 September 2013, Generali, Mediobanca and Intesa Sanpaolo reached an agreement with Telefónica for the sale to the latter of their shares in Telco. The transaction would allow the Spanish operator to increase its stake in the holding company that controls 46% of Telecom Italia from 66 to 22,4%, with an option for a further increase up to 70% in the short term to then reach 100%. % starting from January 2014 in case of approval by the Antitrust authorities.

Today, at the end of the morning, the Telecom Italia stock on the Stock Exchange gains 0,65%.
