Technology: Google Chrome lands on Android 4.0

The Google browser arrives on smartphones and tablets equipped with the latest version of Android – The novelty for now concerns only 12 countries, including Italy: in Europe only France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain – The browser internet, as well as that of Apple, has opted for the HTML5 system: it is therefore incompatible with Flash from Adobe.

Since Tuesday the internet browser from Google, Chrome, was finally Applied to the latest version of Android OS for smartphones and tabletst, the so-called Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The news for now it concerns only 12 countries, among which there is no Italy: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.

The incognito mode has also been brought to mobile, which allows you not to save passwords, the browsing history and the cookies of the sites visited. However, Google Chrome for Android is not compatible with Adobe Flash, to the benefit of the HTML5 system. Choice already made, since 2007, also by Apple for the iPhone, which led Adobe to announce, last November, that it had suspended the development activity of the Flash reader for smartphones.

With the mobile version of Chrome Google enters the competition, even on portable navigators, with Firefox browsers from Mozilla and Opera, which offers two models for smartphones and tablets.
