Tecnoinvestimenti acquires 51% of the Spanish Camerfirma

The group carries out its first acquisition abroad with the aim of obtaining leadership in Digital Trust in Spain and South America - The subsidiary InfoCert subscribes to a capital increase of three million

Tecnoinvestimenti has indirectly acquired 51% of Camerfirma, one of the main certification authorities in Spain. The Italian group carried out the operation through the subsidiary InfoCert, which will finance the acquisition through the use of internal resources and has subscribed a capital increase of 3,1 million euros.

InfoCert aims to create a pan-European provider in the Digital Trust sector and has chosen Camerfirma as a partner to develop the Iberian and Latin American markets.

The Spanish company is based in Madrid, but also has some commercial ventures in South America. Owned by the Spanish Chambers of Commerce, Camerfirma was founded in 2000 as a certification service provider based on the Spanish law 59/2003 of December 19 regarding electronic signatures and identity certificates, which allows companies and their employees to electronically sign documents with full technical security and legal validity.

"The Camerfirma transaction is Tecnoinvestimenti's twelfth operation - said Enrico Salza, president of the Italian group - since the group was established in 2009 and the first acquisition outside Italy of significant strategic importance for a dynamic group like ours and which is now aiming to consolidate its international leadership in Digital Trust”.

Danilo Cattaneo, CEO of InfoCert, underlined that "the operation fits perfectly into InfoCert's international growth roadmap, aimed at creating the leading provider of Trust Services in Europe".

Alfonso Carcasona, Managing Director of Camerfirma commented: “We are very pleased to participate in the creation of the largest European provider of trust services, which fulfills the mission of the Chamber of Commerce to join forces to facilitate the growth of Digital Trust services in Spain and in Europe".

In 2017, Camerfirma reported revenues of 3,3 million euros and an Ebitda of 0,5 million. As at 31 March 2018, net cash amounted to Euro 0,3 million.
