Theater, "My sweetest Clara" goes on tour

After the "sold out" at the Bernini theater in Ariccia, on the Roman castles, the show "My sweetest Clara - Robert Schumann's last night" will land on Sunday 12th in Acquapendente (Viterbo) at the Boni theater to then be repeated in Rome, at the theater of Torbellamonaca on 1 and 2 April.

The show in many respects can be considered an investigation tinged with "mystery". What is hidden behind the most romantic love story and music that the nineteenth century has witnessed? What were the most extravagant German composer and the most famous pianist in Europe hiding under a feverish passion? What caused Robert Schumann's madness? Why did Clara abandon him in an asylum until her death? The same questions that push Dr. Richarz, the chief physician of the psychiatric clinic where the musician is located, to a passionate investigation in search of the truth, the disclosure of which will compromise the doctor himself.

Clara is interpreted by Chiara Di Stefano, who with refined sensitivity embodies the lacerating contradictions of the most acclaimed pianist of the romantic era; Giordano Bonini is Dr. Richarz, of which he clearly highlights the conflict between passion and cynicism; Giacomo Zito, who is also its author and director, plays the role of Robert Schumann who, now close to passing away, alternates painful glimmers of desperate lucidity in the dark of a terrifying madness.

The show is accompanied by the music of Robert Schumann, curated by Maurizio D'Alessandro.
