Taxi, Milan and Rome more expensive than Paris

The most expensive city in the world for a ride in taxi è the capital of Norway Oslo, where to travel 5 km you spend almost 30 euros. To say it is one studio by the Swiss bank UBS which took into consideration the rates applied by taxi drivers in 71 cities around the world for an average journey of 5 kilometers in the urban area.

In this not very virtuous ranking, the two Italian cities examined also defend themselves well, Milan and Rome, which are respectively in the top-10 and in the top-20 with eighth and eighteenth place: both ahead of world capitals such as Paris and London, where in general life is usually very expensive.

In the Lombard capital, for a 5 km taxi ride you get to spend on average almost 16 euros, 15,85 euros to be precise. In addition to Oslo, Zurich (25,28 euros), Luxembourg (20,47 euros), Geneva (18,86), Auckland (18,07), Stockholm (17,01) and Montreal are more expensive than Milan (16,10).

Prices in the capital are a little more affordable, where you can get away with just over 13 euros each way, which is still worth the 18th position out of 71, ahead of Paris, London, Munich, Brussels, Chicago, but also New York , Madrid and Barcelona. The least expensive city of the Old Continent turns out to be Athens: here you need one euro per kilometre, 5 euros for a 5-kilometre ride. Overall, among the 71 cities surveyed worldwide, the least expensive of all is New Delhi, where a ride of that distance costs just over 1 euro.
