Taxis, that's where they cost the most in Europe

In the era of Uber, but also of shuttles, trains and car rental with driver, the taxi is still one of the most used means of transport, especially for travelers moving from city centers to airports. Very often, however, the race turns out to be a drain: we know something about it in Italy, but we are not the worst in Europe. According to data released by the specialized site taxi2airport.com, which sifted through the tariffs of 15 European capitals, in fact it emerged that the most expensive are Amsterdam and immediately after London, while the gold medal for savings goes to Lisbon.

Just above the average, in sixth position among the cities with the highest taxi fares, Rome, with a request of 36 euros to travel the approximately 30 km that separate the center of the Eternal City from the Fiumicino airport. In the Dutch capital, on the other hand, the cost per kilometer is 2,35 euros: from the center to Schipol you therefore need at least 52,07 euros (traffic permitting), despite the distance being just over 20 kilometres. London is also very inconvenient: a journey from Heathrow to the City (25,6 km) costs 50,6 euros. On the podium Stockholm with 49,76 euros, by virtue of the distance from the airport which is 40,3 km. Then follow Bern (43,84 euros for 10 km!) and Paris. Cheaper (and faster) Berlin: 20,1 euros for 10,8 km.

The podium of the cheapest cities, as far as taxis are concerned, is instead occupied by the capital of Portugal in first place (5,8 euros for 5,4 km), followed by Ankara (13,64 euros for 26,5 km). and from Madrid (18,56 euros for 15 km). Curiosity: Milan, which is not a capital but one of the main airports on the continent, would have "won" this ranking hands down. In fact, to reach Malpensa airport the fare is fixed at 95 euros: a huge amount, even if proportionally the price remains lower than that of Amsterdam, given that the Varese airport is over 50 km from the center of the Lombard capital.
