Tav, one step forward. Autonomy, for now it's stopped

La Tav, unwelcome to the Five Stars, takes a big step forward, while the law on regional autonomy, supported by the League, suffers a clear stop. This sums up yesterday's political day which can be considered a draw between the two quarreling government partners.

The Tav has taken a step forward with the unlocking of tenders for the construction of the Turin-Lyon line and, at the same time, a increase in funding from the European Union which insures 55% of the expenses for the international leg, while reducing many of the initial costs. In all, the benefit to public coffers will be 1,6 billion euros. But now Europe is demanding a clear and definitive position of the Italian Government on the Tav within two weeks, otherwise the 813 million already allocated will be lost.

"A historic day", commented the new Governor of Piedmont, Alberto Cirio, a force supporter wanted by the League, and the Northern League leader naturally rejoices Matteo Salvini while the grillini, resigned, take it out on "the usual concrete party". According to Deputy Prime Minister Grillino Luigi Di Maio "the work is a great gift to the French" but they seem like words aimed only at keeping the hard wing of the Five Stars calm.

Despite the pentastellato minister of Infrastructure Danilo Toninelli try to curb the exultation of the League by arguing that the tenders for the Tav "can always be revoked", the president of Confindustria, Vincenzo Boccia, he declared, after the increase in EU funding, that he hopes that the definitive green light from the Tav will finally arrive within the year.

The scenario of the differentiated regional autonomy, always supported by the League with an eye to the North, which suffered a sudden yesterday stop by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, according to which the text under discussion is wrong, why as it stands, it penalizes the Mezzogiorno. Conte presented himself to the government summit with a technical report that highlights all the critical points of the discussed provision e Salvini left the meeting disappointed. Here, of course, the roles are reversed: the grillini rejoice, the Lega collects the stoppage in disappointment, even if the game is not over.
