Tares: postponed to July, ok in the Senate Commission

The first installment of Tares, the new tax on waste and other municipal services, could slip from January to July. The postponement is contained in an amendment to the waste decree presented by the rapporteur Antonio D'Alì (Pdl) and approved this morning in the Environment Committee in the Senate. This was reported by the rapporteur himself, who is also president of the Commission, at the end of the examination of the measure. The text arrives today in the Chamber

D'Alì also reported that the go-ahead for the amendment was unanimous and that the Undersecretary for the Environment, Tullio Fanelli, "has deferred to the Commission, reserving the right to express an opinion in the Chamber after hearing that of the Budget Committee . For us, the Tares, as it has been set up, constitutes an additional tax on the house to which we are absolutely opposed. We believe it is appropriate for the next government to deal with the matter".

Finally, D'Alì reiterated that if the next majority is centre-right, the Executive will aim to abolish the measure.
