Chien-Ming Wang, pitcher of the Washington Nationals baseball team and Taiwanese sports icon, will lose a profitable partnership with the Taiwanese computer manufacturer following the scandal of his extra-marital affair.

Limited economic damage due to the scandal involving Chien-Ming Wang, pitcher of the Washington Nationals baseball team and Taiwanese sports icon, who however will lose a profitable collaboration with an important hardware manufacturer. The Taiwanese computer manufacturer Acer has in fact declared that it will call into question the advertising contract signed with Wang, due to the admissions made by the launcher that he had an extra-marital affair two years ago.

In fact, 32-year-old Wang, one of Taiwan's most famous sportsmen, admitted during a press conference in Florida that he cheated on his wife for eight months in 2009. This admission casts a shadow on the public image of the player, who has cashed in sponsorships in based on his image of a good family man. Other contracts of the player, including the one with Bionet and E. Sun Financial Holding, however, do not seem to be in danger for the moment. Wang, assured Lai Ching-te, mayor of Tainan, will also retain the honorary citizenship of the city that was conferred on him in 2005
