Sysdig, Cloud-security leader with Permira funds

Sysdig Inc., a leader in cloud services security, announces it has raised $350 million in Series G funding, bringing the total to $744 million and doubling the value of the company compared to 8 months ago. Funding was led by Permira growth fund along with companies such as Guggenheim Investments, Accel, Bain Capital Ventures and Glynn Capital among other companies.

Sysdig enables businesses to protect your Cloud providing a real-time threat detection system that allows the monitoring and elimination of any blind spots in the security systems. With the Sysdig platform, teams can detect and respond to runtime threats and audit permissions, configurations, compliance and vulnerabilities for containers as well as other cloud services.

The American company is one key collaborator of the main cloud service providers, such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and IBM. With this funding, Sysdig aims to achieve four objectives: accelerate the growth process to establish itself in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America, double its workforce during 2022, expand the number of partners and create a organization capable of offering a multi-cloud security offering across runtimes, permissions, vulnerabilities, and configurations.

The platform was built on an open source foundation, using open source Falco and Sysdig, standard programs for the container threat detection and cloud incident response. The company aims to achieve, through the use of open source units, a collaborative relationship with its customers, who will be able to collaborate in improving product quality by analyzing the proposed security policies, providing additional functions to the program, reporting any problems and fixing system bugs.

Since Falco's partnership with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Falco has been downloaded over 37 million times, an increase of 335% since joining the CNCF project in January 2020 In the last year the company has registered a 300% growth in Sysdig Secure sales, managing to expand the number of their SaaS hosting locations from 9 to 16, also adding Australia.
