Syria, Trump evaluates military action

The president of the United States is in fact considering the possibility, according to sources cited by the CNN television network, of military action in Syria, in retaliation for the attack with chemical weapons.

The chemical attack in Syria is "horrible, unspeakable", a "terrible affront to humanity", Donald Trump told the US Congress. This was reported by CNN, which on the day of the historic visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping, with which, among other things, a joint intervention against North Korea is on the table: but in the meantime the White House would therefore be targeting Syria. The president of the United States is in fact considering the possibility, according to sources cited by the television network, of military action in Syria, in retaliation for the attack with chemical weapons. 

Meanwhile, the death toll from Tuesday's attack in the province of Idlib, in which chemical weapons were allegedly used, has risen to 86. This was announced by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, adding that among the victims there are 30 children and 20 women. Russia's support for Syrian President Bashar al Assad is not unconditional. "It is unacceptable to accuse anyone" of the alleged chemical attack "until a complete and impartial international investigation is conducted": Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu.

Israel also condemns the Assad government for what happened: “The two attacks in Idlib, the homicidal chemical attack on civilians and the attack on the local hospital, were carried out on the direct order and design of Syrian President Bashar Assad, using Syrian fighter planes,” said the Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman in an interview with Yediot Ahronot newspaper.

"It is a shame that there has not been a resolution of the UN Security Council," he said instead Angela Merkel, commenting in Bad Muskau on the developments on the chemical attack in Syria. "On this precisely those who refuse, must reflect on what responsibility they assume", he added. Some elements suggest that the attack came from the Assad regime, the chancellor also said.

And Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accuses: “With chemical weapons, Assad has killed 150 civilians. Allah will avenge them. We too will do our part."
