The Isis jihadists managed to get "into the heart" of the Yarmuk Palestinian refugee camp, south of Damascus. This was reported by Lebanese television correspondent Al Mayadin. In the afternoon there was intense fighting in the suburbs of the Syrian capital, due to an infiltration attempt by ISIS militiamen. This was reported by the NGO National Observatory for Human Rights in Syria (Ondus).
The Yarmuk neighborhood has been the scene of siege for two years by loyalist and Palestinian troops loyal to the Syrian regime, while rebel forces and Palestinian allies are resisting inside. The situation for the approximately 18.000 civilians still living in Yarmuk is dramatic due to the scarcity of food and health care.
