Syngenta: Chemchina says no to the EU

The European Commission has announced that the Chinese giant ChemChina has not made any concessions to the European Union related to its offer of 43 billion dollars for the Syngenta group. This opens up two possibilities: either the Commission will give the unconditional go-ahead or it will launch an investigation that could last five months. It is reported that the companies met with antitrust authorities last week in order to contain competitive concerns. In the wake of the news, the Syngenta share is traded at 392,30 Chf, marking a decline of more than 7 percent.
