Swatch challenges Apple: Bellamy debuts, the watch for mobile payments

Swatch openly challenges Apple and enters the mobile payment market. The Swiss giant has announced the immediate availability in China of the Bellamy Watch, the watch equipped with an NFC chip that will allow you to manage online transactions directly from your wrist, thanks to a partnership with Union Pay and the country's Bank of Communications Co.

Swatch therefore enters the world of mobile payments, outstripping Apple and its Apple Watch, a competing device that currently does not allow for transactions. The cost of Bellamy Watch it will be equal to 600 yuan, about 83 euros, a much lower price than the bitten apple smartwatch.

The news attracted the attention of the Wall Street Journal which highlighted the importance of the agreement between Swatch, the country's bank and Union Pay, the only authorized credit and debit card issuer in the People's Republic of China. An agreement, the one with Union Pay that Apple had sought in the past, but without being able to find a meeting point. Instead, the Swiss competitor succeeded and won the challenge with the American giant for the first time in months.
