The money from the new decree is applied to the Investment Fund of the same Ministry of Infrastructure and Mobility. They will be spent to strengthen docks and facilities, increase the reception of all types of ships, but above all for resilience to climate change. They are added to resources for all the Italian ports foreseen in the Pnrr. And for this purpose - recalls Giovannini - they have already been approved and assigned 2,8 billion euros of the Complementary Fund. "The strengthening of the ports, the expansion of their operations and greater resilience to climate change are priorities in view of the sustainable development of the country which see us strongly committed," he added. Alongside him in the division between North and South are the Port Authorities who in the coming years will have to guarantee careful governance, both for logistics and for environmental impacts. The three strategic areas identified by the decree are in line with initiatives that can be implemented both in the Adriatic and in the Tyrrhenian Sea accommodate the demand of shipowners looking for economies of scale. A balance that the government has been able to observe by thus assigning the funds: 59,9 million to the Southern Adriatic Sea Authority for interventions in the port of Barletta (19,9 million) and on the road linking the A14 motorway and the port of Bari ; 32,2 million to the Eastern Adriatic Authority for interventions in the port of Trieste; 20,1 million to that of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea for the redevelopment of the monumental area of ​​the port of Naples.
