Switzerland, referendum: no to minimum income for all

Switzerland flatly says no to basic income for everyone. The referendum, proposed by independent Swiss groups, rejected with 78% of NO, the minimum income for everyone from birth to death of 2.500 francs per month (2.250 euros) to replace the current welfare services.

The amount of the universal minimum income, rejected by the referendum, was foreseen - albeit to a lesser extent (625 francs per month) - also for minors.

The referendum consultation buried bizarre and ideological proposals that would have ruined the Swiss federal budget but is probably destined to have repercussions in other European countries as well.
