Sustainability, Intesa Sanpaolo supports Wiit: 10 million euros with green guarantee from Sace

Intesa Sanpaolo provided a financing of 10 million of euros, supported by the Green Guarantee of Sace, wiit, one of the main European operators in the sector of cloud computing services for businesses. The intervention is part of Intesa Sanpaolo's broader plan aimed at supporting companies' investments in environmental transition and in achieving the objectives linked to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr).

Wiit is, in fact, paying more and more attention to sustainable growth in their development projects. The company is focused on providing continuous Hybrid and Private Cloud services for critical applications.

Pursuit of environmental objectives

The funding will be used to support efforts to achieve environmental objectives (Wiit4Climate), focusing mainly on the purchase of new servers, storage and software. The significant increase in digital traffic requires ICT companies to adopt solutions aimed at energy efficiency and the transition towards renewable energy sources. In response to this need, Cloud Providers and companies with data centers are looking for innovative technological solutions to reduce energy consumption in the sector.

Promote the development of a sustainable economy

Intesa Sanpaolo, in collaboration with Sace, is committed to supporting businesses, especially SMEs, in sustainability, innovation and reduction of environmental impact projects, thus promoting the development of a sustainable economy.

Through the “Motore Italia Energy Transition” program, the Group puts 76 billion euros available of the 410 destined for projects and investments in line with the objectives of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr). The program aims to promote the energy autonomy of Italian companies, with particular attention to Renewable Energy Communities (Cer).

The role of Sace

Sace plays a rkey role in the Italian ecological transition, by providing green guarantees for national projects that facilitate the transition towards an economy with a lower environmental impact. The company collaborates with the Sace Network to integrate production cycles with low-emission technologies, promote the production of sustainable goods and services and support initiatives for mobility with lower polluting emissions.

The Wiit operation, carried out thanks to synergies with the Sace Network, falls within the scope of the green agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo, in which Sace intervenes with a guarantee to cover financing intended both for large industrial reconversion projects and for SMEs that intend reduce its environmental impact and initiate a sustainable transformation.

Thanks to “Motore Italia Transition Energetica” our group concretely supports businesses by generating economic, environmental and social benefits for the community and encouraging the development of new energy communities”.

“We are very proud that Intesa Sanpaolo and Sace have believed in our ESG project to 2030 and the provision of a 10 million euro loan with Green Guarantee to support investments in sustainability projects and in particular in pursuit of Environmental Objectives (Wiit4Climate) is proof of this – he declared Alessandro Cozzi, CEO of Wiit – The appreciation that Wiit continues to receive from the financial community encourages us to define business growth goals that are increasingly integrated with sustainability with a medium-long term vision and, in this particular case, in promoting the energy autonomy processes of our Data Centers".
