Sustainability, Banco BPM finances Sammontana with 10 million euros

Banco BPM has perfected a financing of 10 million euros, with a five-year term, aimed at new investments in the context of sustainability in favor of Sammontana, the first Italian company for the production of ice cream in our country. The loan is part of the 5 billion "Sustainable Investments 2020-2023" ceiling that the bank led by Giuseppe Castagna has designed to respond to the needs of the business world in order to counter the climate change.

In particular, the loan is intended to support the company's development plans aimed at achieving specific ESG objectives such as the reduction of the use of plastic in the production process and of greenhouse gas emissions. The results achieved are recorded every year thanks to the analysis of the entire life cycle that Sammontana has been conducting since 2016, on the basis of the Agreement with the Ministry of Ecological Transition (then Ministry of the Environment) signed in 2016 and renewed in the following years including goals on the front ofThe circular economy and the pastry sector with the Tre Marie, il Pasticcere and Mongelo brands.

Marco Notari, head of the central-northern corporate market of Banco BPM, said: "Being by their side confirms, even in this complex macroeconomic context, our commitment on the ESG front, a challenge that Banco BPM has decided to meet by implementing proactive support actions for customers also through dedicated tools”.

"Despite the context we are experiencing, we have firmly decided to continue our path in favor of the sustainability of the ice cream and pastry sector and this agreement will contribute to the consolidation of this commitment - he commented Leonard Bagnoli, CEO of Sammontana. And that we must "commit ourselves to leave a healthy business and planet to future generations, to contribute to a better future for all".
