Surprisingly they grow again exports of China. After the sharp contractions recorded in the previous two months, in April the figure showed an increase of 0,9% on an annual basis, to 188,54 billion dollars. A decidedly better result than analysts' estimates, which had predicted a further decline of 1,7%.
As for cheap imports, increased by 0,8% last month to 170,09 billion, also in this case far exceeding the forecasts of analysts, who estimated a drop of 2,3%.
The combination of data therefore shows that between March and April the Chinese trade balance it recorded a surplus that grew from 7,7 to 18,5 billion dollars, while the market was expecting a more contained rise, to 16,7 billion.
In March, both imports and exports fell sharply, by 11,3 and 6,6% respectively.
