Supplier Award, Pirelli rewards its suppliers

Pirelli rewards its suppliers and does so on the basis of quality, innovative capacity, speed, sustainability and global coverage of the supply. These are the main elements that justified the assignment of the 2019 Supplier Awards, the acknowledgment that Pirelli awards annually to 9 of the more than 10.000 suppliers of its chain at a global level: the Supplier Awards therefore reward companies that have distinguished themselves in making the Pirelli supply chain even more sustainable, innovative and qualitatively excellent, helping to make the products of the long P more and more High Value, in line with the corporate strategy.

The 9 suppliers of raw materials, services and machinery who distinguished themselves over the last year were awarded by the General Manager Operations, Andrea Casaluci, and the Chief Procurement Officer, Pierluigi de Cancellis, during a ceremony at the Pirelli headquarters in Milan. Among the awarded companies, there are suppliers who have become over time real partners able to develop particularly demanding projects and applications together with the company and suppliers who, despite having started a collaboration more recently, have already demonstrated potential in order to be able to develop strategic projects in the future. Also this year a specific award was dedicated to sustainability which represents a strategic management model in Pirelli.

Last year Pirelli – in the light of the full integration of sustainable management in its global procurement processes and policies – had obtained the certification of compliance of its procurement system with the UNI ISO 20400 Guidelines. “Pirelli – commented Pierluigi de Cancellis, Chief Procurement Officer – pursues a business model focused on Global High Value. To achieve the objectives, therefore, it is necessary to embark on the journey with partners capable of guaranteeing not only an excellent and always innovative service, but also sharing values such as attention to people, the environment, the customer and brand value. This is why we wanted to reward companies that share these aspects with Pirelli and that have become real partners of Pirelli and not just simple suppliers of goods or services”.
