OECD Superindex, Italy pink jersey: "Positive trend change for the economy"

Italy at the top of the OECD super-index ranking. In March, the Composite leading indicators (Clis), an indicator of economic trends calculated monthly by the International Organization, recorded a positive variation for our country of 0,19% on a monthly basis and 2,47% on an annual basis.

In the press release released today, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development indicates that "a positive trend change" in the economy is underway in Italy.

In general, the Clis was substantially stable in March for the OECD area as a whole, with +0,01% on a month and +0,65% on an annual basis. As for the alone Eurozone, the super-index marked a monthly progress of 0,08% and an annual increase of 1,85%.

Su Germany e France the OECD super-index signaled substantial stability in March, with respectively minus 0,01 percent and plus 0,02 percent on a monthly basis. On the United States a slight weakening, with minus 0,04 percent, as well as on Japan where it recorded a minus 0,06 percent.

Sharper declines involved the major emerging economies, which although not part of the OECD are monitored in consideration of their weight on the global economy. Countries that have been witnessing a weakening growth trend for months.

In March, the Clis index recorded a minus 0,11 per cent on China, minus 0,20 percent on Russia, minus 0,10 percent on Brazil and minus 0,05 percent on India. Emerging giants are the only ones to record negative changes also in the annual comparison.
