Super Inps, debt alarm for unification with Inpdap

The merger with Inpdap and Enpals would drag Inps towards a gigantic debt: 12.421 million. The alarm was sounded by IDV senator Elio Lannutti, who urged the Minister of Labor and Social Policies to "avoid serious repercussions on workers and pensioners, i.e. 17 million workers who pay 150 billion in social security contributions every year to ensure a pension".

In particular – continues Lannutti – it is the Inpdap, a social security and assistance institute for public employees, which inherits a deficit of 13.281 million from the so-called “super Inps”. And also for the assets, the institution would register a net loss of 2012 million for 24.477. Not only that: INPDAD's accounts - recalls Lannutti - show a continuous downward trend: in three years the debt has gone from 9 billion to over 13 billion forecast for 2012. Of course, adds the IDV senator, even if the The other body – Enpals – has budget surpluses, however it will have to deal with the expenses of the Inpdap budget deficit following its incorporation into INPS.

Hence the solicitation to Minister Fornero to face the budget emergency. The management of INPS is also targeted, judged by Lannutti as "expensive and opaque".
