Bpm study: women conquering entrepreneurship. Great opportunity for banks and economy

In Italy, female enterprises represent almost 22% of total enterprises and their diffusion is relatively greater in the regions with the highest female unemployment. It therefore seems that women are able to respond to employment problems with a spirit of initiative. This is one of the conclusions reached by the Banca Popolare di Milano conference entitled "Women's entrepreneurship - comparing experiences" held this morning at the Milanese bank's headquarters.

The study by Banca Popolare di Milano analyzed the phenomenon of women-owned enterprises on the basis of its own data, highlighting its liveliness and importance for the entire national economy. The idea of deepening the issue of women-led enterprises derives from the allocation of a ceiling, available to the entire banking system, dedicated to SMEs with a predominantly female participation, operating in any economic sector. Banca Popolare di Milano has joined the initiative with an amount equal to 300 million euro, taking the opportunity to analyze the growing phenomenon of female entrepreneurship.

In essence, the conclusion of the report is that female entrepreneurship presents itself as an expanding segment with clear opportunities for both banks and the economy as a whole. Not only that: a very reassuring and encouraging picture emerges in which more prudent credit management, the clearer possibility of achieving inclusive and sustainable economic development and, a very significant element, the contribution that can be made by foreign women for the creation of a culture of integration through entrepreneurial initiative make the study a valuable tool for enhancing an original business management.

The report, presented on the occasion of the conference, aims to contribute to the debate on the participation of women in the development of the economy, confirming the trust that BPM places in the potential of women entrepreneurs.
