From today the international law firm Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners (GOP), through the GOP4Venture team, is Main Partner of Startup bootcamp FoodTech, the first global and independent accelerator in the agri-food innovation sector.

The collaboration was announced during the Sneak preview, a preview presentation of the startups of the 2017/18 class and their business models to a selected elite of investors, a meeting hosted in the headquarters of the law firm in Rome.

This new partnership enriches the group of partners such Red shrimpVenture GroupMonksCiscoOrienta and M3 Investimenti which already support Startupbootcamp FoodTech. In particular, the support provided by GOP4Venture will strengthen the quality of the services offered by Startupbootcamp FoodTech to the startups that are selected for its acceleration program.

GOP4Venture as Main Partner, undertakes to offer legal support to all the startups selected by the accelerator starting from the current class, selected last September among 755 applications received from 70 countries and which includes teams from Vietnam, Holland, Italy, Israel, Hungary, Brazil and Denmark, shown here:

Startupbootcamp FoodTech invests every year in a small and selected group of startups in the foodtech sector, providing €15.000 of capital, as well as tutoring and mentoring services, high-level training in all areas relevant to startup development and access to a exclusive network of industry partners, investors and international venture capital funds. To the €15.000 must be added the possibility for the best startups to win an additional €35.000 in the form of convertible notes subscribed by some of the main partners such as LVenture and PiCampus.

Selected startups have direct access to key industry contacts, including:

  • more than 150 mentors from startups and companies such as Barilla, Metro Group, Lavazza, World Food Program, Bayer, Tetra Pak, Facebook, Monsanto, Amazon and Cisco;
  • over 1.000 Business Angels and VCs such as Accel, Endeit, Earlybird, Sunstone, Google VC, and many more;
  • over 200 influential players in the food industries, as well as expert leaders of the foodtech sector.

From the first year of acceleration, 10 foodtech startups have emerged, all in the process of completing their seed round, with valuations starting from 2 million euros.
