Students: 850 beds in Padua and Venice by Cdp and Inps

850 new student beds are on the way in Padua and Venice. The initiative is part of the Student housing plan implemented through the Erasmo Fund with resources from CDP and Inps, plus a contribution from the MIUR. In all, the investment amounts to 120 million euros and aims to create 3 new beds at special rates in the main Italian university cities.

Let's start with Padova, where the new student residence in via Delù will be available starting from the 2019-20 academic year, whose work is continuing at a rapid pace to make available to students living in the city a total of 200 beds at controlled rents distributed in 204 new accommodation, including 4 studios, 90 single rooms and 55 double rooms.

A controlled rent is foreseen for 51% of the lodgings (starting from 330 euros for a bed in a double room), while the remaining 49% will be rented with free market prices (from 440 euros for a bed in a single room up to 600 for a one-room apartment for exclusive use).

As for Venezia, work continues for the completion of the largest student residence in the city, in the Santa Marta area, Dorsoduro district. Also from the beginning of the next academic year, the facility will make a total of 650 bed places available to students of the Ca' Foscari University and other university institutions in the city: the first 365 accommodations will be delivered by 15 October, while the remaining completed by November 15th.

The residence will reserve 82 beds at reduced prices for the assignees of the Esu tender (327 euros for a single room and 228 for a double room) and another 250 beds at a subsidized Social Housing rate (426 euros for a single room and 327 for the bed in a double room). The remaining 318 beds have a rent substantially in line with social housing tariffs: 380 euros for a bed in a double room, 490 for a single room and 530 for a superior single room.

In detail, the Padua project is worth about 13 million and the Venice one about 30. Both were created thanks to the resources of the Erasmo Fund, 60% owned by Cdp Investimenti Sgr (Cassa depositi e prestiti group) through the FIA Fund and 40% by INPS through the Aristotle Fund. The Fund is managed by the asset manager company Fabrica Immobiliare Sgr. The Venetian intervention also makes use of a contribution from the Miur of around 4 million euros.
