Streaming, the grillini's own goal and the triumph of Enrico Letta

The live streaming consultation between Letta and the grillini was a real disaster for the representatives of the 5 Star Movement and a film archive goal for the Premier in charge who overtook them in everything, revealing their political paucity – especially the own goal on Rodotà was sensational: “ Are 4 votes enough – replied Letta – to go up to the Quirinale?”

Streaming, the grillini's own goal and the triumph of Enrico Letta

It's easy to say about streaming. But you can also die of streaming as, politically, happened yesterday to the grillini in the meeting with Enrico Letta for the formation of the new government. The grillini wanted streaming and streaming it was. But, unlike the humiliating previous meeting with Pierluigi Bersani, the face-to-face with Letta was a disastrous own goal for the grillini. It is a triumph for Letta who has dominated them in style and concreteness by exposing their political inadequacy.

As Aldo Grasso masterfully writes in Corriere della Sera, "Letta ate the grillini in one bite", while "the M5S spokespersons were in serious difficulty, they didn't know what to answer, they took refuge in political jargon, they got bogged down in abstract formulas".

“In these sixty days – Letta argued – the force that you represent, both numerical and real in the country, has entered Parliament and has not wanted to participate in the decisions taken. It would be frustrating if this unwillingness to mix ideas and votes continued." Isn't it time to unfreeze the power of the grillini in Parliament?

Naturally in the evening Grillo confirmed his unwillingness to mingle, but how long will Grillo's isolation last without the strength of the 5 Star Movement evaporating, as the Friuli vote already indicates?

But the most sensational own goal was scored by Roberta Lombardi, who never looked like an eagle but yesterday surpassed herself. “Explain to us – she said with evident insolence towards Letta – why you did not want to vote for Rodotà for the Presidency of the Republic?”. Letta had a good time placing the decisive thrust by saying: “But did we propose you to vote for Prodi who was on your list of favourites? Why didn't you vote for him?”.

But then there are the numbers that speak for themselves, as Letta reminded the grillini again: on the network Rodotà had won just over 4 thousand preferences while – in the primaries for Rome alone – Marino collected 50. And with those numbers the grillini wanted take Rodotà to the Quirinale? Come on, we're not kidding. "It seems to understand - as Grasso sarcastically notes in the Corriere - that on April 25 he did not die, as Beppe Grillo wants". It was time for the day of deliverance to come: from nonsense.
