Stop the "crazy folders": here comes the rule save-fines

With an amendment to the decree, the banks, the majority and the government defuse the sending of 50 tax bills to Italians. They call it a "fine-saving" rule and it was presented by the rapporteur of the measure, Senator Pd Giovanni Sanga.

The problem arose with the introduction of 30% discounted fines for those who pay within five days. On the basis of an interpretation of the law, it was not the date of payment by the transgressors that was considered valid, but the date of crediting the fine to the administrations (in particular to the Municipalities).

Consequently, those who have paid the amount due through the banks, in particular with home banking services, risked having an Equitalia folder delivered to their home.

In essence, the amendment saves payments registered within two days after the canonical expiry of the five days envisaged for obtaining the discount. These extra 48 hours secure payments made online or by bank transfer.

In particular, the text reads that "for payments other than those in cash or by postal current account, the release effect of the payment occurs if the credit in favor of the administration takes place within 2 days from the payment expiry date ”.
