After weeks of waiting and almost 30 applications received for 2.800 jobs offered, the president of Ita Alfredo Altavilla handed over to the unions the framework agreement on new contracts. The response from the associations must arrive by 17pm on Wednesday 8 September. 

The document finally reveals the salaries which will be guaranteed to the staff of the new airline which will take over from Alitalia from mid-October. As revealed by the Messenger, payrolls have been cut by an average of 15%, there are fewer holidays and higher limits for parental leave, but welfare measures are envisaged for employees and family members.

ITA SALARIES: CAPTAINS, PILOTS AND FLIGHT ATTENDANTS

Going into detail, the salary proposal presented to the unions provides for a restructuring of the hourly allowance. For flight personnel, payments will arrive for the hours following the 60th. 

Speaking of the figures, for the long range the commanders will receive 132 thousand euros gross and the pilots 82 thousand euros gross. On the medium/short range instead, 117 euros were offered to commanders and 68 euros to pilots. As for instead the flight attendants the salary will amount to 41 euros gross for medium/long range and 35 for short range. In all cases, 15% of the established figure will come in the form of a performance bonus. For the ground staff gross salaries of 34,8 thousand euros are envisaged with a performance bonus of 11%. 

The first increase will come after three years, the following ones every two years. 

HOLIDAYS, REST AND LEAVES

Ita employees will have 4 weeks of paid holidays and 96 days of rest per year, plus another 14 days of contractual flexibility. Flight duty time has been raised to EASA maximums. 

The request to take advantage of parental leave must be presented at least 15 days in advance. 

APPLICATIONS AND RECRUITMENT

Waiting to know what the reaction of the unions will be, yesterday Ita took stock of recruitments and candidacies. In detail, a total of 29.451 applications were received, of which approximately 7.200 came from employees from Alitalia. 

2.760 CVs arrived for the roles of captains and pilots (1.298 from Alitalia in Extraordinary Administration), 8.097 for flight attendants (3.311 from Alitalia) and 18.594 for staff personnel (2.601 from Alitalia).
