End of controversy. THEThe Government presented an amendment which suppresses the measure that eliminated the salary cap of some top figures of the public administration. A law approved by a large majority by the Senate Finance Committee which had not a little irritated the Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, both for the method and for the method. For the premier to derogate from threshold of 240 thousand euros imposed in 2014 was unthinkable, especially in a historical period in which households and businesses are called to face a very harsh crisis caused by soaring energy prices and inflation. The ceiling of 240 thousand euros for civil servants is back
Article 41 bis of the Aid Decree established that:
"to the Chief of Police, the general commander of the Carabinieri, the general commander of the Gdf, the head of the Dap, as well as the other chiefs of staff, as well as the heads of departments and the secretary general of the presidency of the Council, the chiefs department and the general secretaries of the ministries are allowed, even as an exception to the ceiling of 240 euros set for public managers, an additional economic treatment”, within the maximum limit of a fund which will have to be defined by a further decree from the government, on a proposal from the Ministry of the Economy.
Well, the amendment presented in the afternoon by the Government removes the exemption from the ceiling of the salaries of the heads of the Armed Forces, of the Police Forces, of the department heads and of the general secretaries of the ministries and of the Presidency of the Council. Everything remains as it is.
