Until the 15th April applications are open forEni Joule for Entrepreneurship, an award for innovative projects in the field of sustainability and energy transition. The purpose of the award – which will be awarded within the framework of Eni Award 2022 – is to promote the initiatives that most distinguish themselves in three sectors:
- decarbonization of processes and products;
- The circular economy;
- fight against climate change.
In particular, three subjects will be selected among team, university spin-offs e startup who have developed (or are developing) innovative entrepreneurial projects of high technological value and above all sustainable in economic, environmental and social terms.
The novelty compared to the 2020 edition is that the call does not only concern the startups of the Joule ecosystem, Eni's school for business but is also open to external realities.
HOW TO APPLY
The application forms must be downloaded and sent to the Prize Management through this platform.
Applications must contain i CV of all team members, more a presentation which summarizes the business plan and the specifics of the entrepreneurial project.
Within the two weeks following 15 April – which, as mentioned, is the last day to apply for the tender – the Directorate will confirm via email that the application has been accepted.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Projects will be evaluated on the basis of four criteria:
- skills of the proposing team;
- innovation of the proposed solution and level of technological development;
- market potential;
- prospects of environmental and social value that can be generated in the long term.
After a preliminary screening by an Eni pre-evaluation commission, the final selection will be carried out by an external commission, which will announce the results by August.
THE AWARD GIVING AT ENI AWARD 2022
The three best projects will receive a special mention during the Eni Award ceremony, an international award created in 2008 to enhance research and technological innovation in the energy world. The ceremony will take place by the end of 2022 at the Quirinale, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
Below are the sections of Eni Award 2022:
- Frontiers of Energy Award: for new technologies in the field of renewables.
- Advanced Environmental Solutions Award: for innovation in the sustainable use of natural resources.
- Energy Transition Award: for technological innovations that allow to improve the energy efficiency of transport and industrial processes.
- Young Researcher of the Year Award: will be attributed to two doctoral theses carried out in Italian universities on the topics of combating pollution, preventing global warming and other topics related to sustainability.
- Debut Award in Research – Young Talents from Africa: these are four recognitions to be awarded to graduates from African countries who have written degree or master theses carried out in African universities on topics related to environmental protection.
- Recognition for Eni innovation: finally, three prizes for the best ideas formulated by Eni researchers.
