Stability: work, buy three and get four

Thanks to the discount on labor costs contained in the new Stability Law, hiring four permanent workers will cost the same as hiring three temporary workers.

Stability: work, buy three and get four

Hire four employees but pay only three. Or at least, this will be the case after the entry into force of the new Stability law, which will contain a discount on labor costs: a bonus of up to a maximum of 8.060 euros a year, thanks to which, starting from 2015, all new open-ended contracts will thus come to cost employers less than similar fixed-term contracts.

An ambitious project, that of the Government, just as ambitious is the objective set by Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan, which aims to create 800 new jobs. In this case, however, new coverage would have to be found, even if the minister minimizes the problem: "But at that point he would mean that the economy has restarted and that of resources would no longer be a problem".

In essence, the government discount makes permanent employment relationships more convenient than semi-subordinate ones with a benefit for employers of around 30%, for which, as the CISL secretary Gigi Petteni points out: " With the cost of three fixed-term contracts (for about 104 thousand euros a year), the company can have 4 permanent employees available”.

The bonus will be 8.060 euros per year and is valid for three years and can be applied to all new contracts entered into between 1 January and 31 December 2015, effectively with the introduction of new permanent contracts with increasing protection whose implementing decree is expected on Wednesday in the council of ministers.

New hires will be affected, including agricultural workers initially excluded from these concessions, who, however, must not have been employed in the previous 6 months with a permanent contract with any employer, or fixed-term workers, or other people who already collaborate with the company such as cococo or cocopro, associates in participation, VAT numbers, or subjects admitted to carry out an internship.
