Squinzi: good proposal by Renzi on art. 18, but that's not enough. Shooting still far away

On the sidelines of the conference of the Confindustria Study Center, the president of Confindustria Giorgio Squinzi made various statements.

Regarding the proposal by the secretary of the Democratic Party, Matteo Renzi, to abolish article 18 for new recruits, he commented as follows: “It is certainly a proposal that goes in the right direction, but from my point of view, it is not enough. To hire you must first create the conditions to get a job, only in this way can you hire people. Otherwise it remains a measure on paper”.

Then, commenting on the data contained in the latest Economic Scenarios of the CSC, he said: “Right now it cannot be said that the recession is over and that there is a recovery. I see a lot of optimism but be careful because we have lost 9,1 points of GDP. The fact that the descent, for a quarter, has no longer continued means that we are at the bottom".

Also because “the Stability law – he criticized – is not sufficient for the recovery of the Italian economy. There are some positive elements, but it is certainly not what we expected and we think it is not enough to restart the country". Therefore, "our judgment is certainly not positive, the method of the past has been followed a bit".
