Sprint: 32 billion deal for merger with T-Mobile

Sprint's hands reach out to rival T-Mobile. According to financial sources, in fact, the two US telephony giants (third and fourth US operators) have reached an agreement for the acquisition of T-Mobile for a figure of around 32 billion dollars, or 40 dollars per share, to be paid for half in cash and half in securities. The merger, however, will also have to pass through the scrutiny of the antitrust authorities.

Currently, T-Mobile's largest shareholder is Deutsche Telekom, which has a roughly 67% stake. The German company is expected to maintain a stake in the new company of between 15% and 20%.
