Spread Btp-Bund new low record: 270 bp. Piazza Affari queen of Europe

The BOT auction was positive: in the morning the Treasury placed all 8,5 billion 12-month BOTs on the market, with yields down to an all-time low: 0,864% – The Spanish auction also did well – the stock market was positive in the middle of the day, driven by the sharp rise in Finmeccanica (+3%) and by the progress of bank stocks – Atlantia collapses after announcement of takeover bid with Gemina.

New downward record for the spread between Btp and Bund. The spread between Italian and German ten-year bonds broke through 270 basis points, reaching a minimum of 269,50 points, at the levels of July 2011. The yield also fell to 4,22 per cent. Spain placed 3,598 billion bonos, maturing March 2015, at a rate of 2,587%, and 470 million bonos, maturing 2026, at 5,569%.

After the Chinese export boom, crude oil jumped to 112 dollars a barrel. Piazza Affari is still the best today with the FtseMib index up by 0,72%. The London and Frankfurt Stock Exchanges are unchanged, Paris falls by 0,4%.

Among the blue chips continues the strong rise of Finmeccanica which increases by 2,9%. Ubs intervened on the stock by raising the target price to 6 euros from 5 euros and the "buy" recommendation. Positive too StM +0,8%, on which Goldman Sachs intervened by raising the target price to 8 euros from 6,1 euros.

Among the banks continue the purchases on MontePaschi +1,3%. The rest of the sector shows slight progress: Unicredit advances 0,5%, Mediobanca + 0,7% Understanding +0,5%. Industrial stocks are also up: FiatPirelli are both up by 0,6%, Fiat Industrial + 1,2%.

Telecom Italy +0,2%, protagonist yesterday of a pyrotechnic leap of 8,8%. It digests the upside today. Today it rises by 0,2%. Positive Mediaset +3% and l'Espresso +2%. Down Atlantia -3,4% after official confirmation of the negotiations for an aggregation with gemina up 2,4%.
