Sport and disability: Vodafone Foundation launches Project Oso

Vodafone Foundation launches OSO - Ogni Sport Oltre, the first digital community open to all to bring people with disabilities closer to sport. And it makes use of two exceptional guests, Alex Zanardi and the very young fencer Bebe Vio, to present the new initiative in the presence of managers such as the president of Coni Giovanni Malagò and with the "blessing" of ministers Beatrice Lorenzin (Health) and Luca Lotti (Sport). The CEO of Vodafone Aldo Bisio and the president of the Vodafone Foundation Enrico Resmini act as hosts.
 
OSO – Every Sport Beyond is the first digital platform that puts all the information useful for those who want to play sports in Italy online and create a community of users among people with disabilities, families, instructors and sports professionals and all those who are passionate about sports, conveying a inclusive model of participation, so that sport is truly an opportunity for everyone. 
 
A VIRTUAL SQUARE FOR SPORT

"The objective of the Vodafone Foundation - states the company's press release - is to significantly increase the number of people with disabilities who practice a sport, creating a practical, digital and usable tool to systematize all the realities that dealing with sports and disabilities” through the Ognisportoltre.it platform and the OSO App, available for Android and iOS. 
 
A virtual square divided into sections with an information section of news, insights and stories, a geolocation section of accessible facilities filtered by sport and type of disability they cater for, a community in which to share one's stories, read testimonials and look for professionals and technicians who can support their preparation, a section dedicated to the projects of the associations working in the area, and a marketplace in which to exchange and purchase equipment and aids for sporting practice. 

DOORS OPEN TO CROWDFUNDING WITH EPPELA

The OSO – Ogni Sport Oltre platform, which already hosts around 40 national and local projects selected through the 1,9 million euro tender (concluded in May 2017), is open to all associations that want to make their project known, and access a fundraiser from community users. Crowdfunding is supported by Eppela. 
 
The 11 national projects that have won the tender are: Sport and more by ASD Onlus Sa.Spo, With BASS, snowboarding is for everyone by Antenne Handicap Vda Onlus, Baskin: the third route by Associazione Baskin, Insuperiamoci 2017/2018 by ASD Total Sport, Sportability Italy by Social Cooperative Download – Albergo Etico Onlus, Rowing for All of the Italian Rowing Federation, Integrated Regional Interscholastic Table Football Championship of the Italian Paralympic Table Football Federation, Dive in of the Italian Federation of Sports with Relational Intellectual Disability, AITA Summer Camp by AITA Onlus Project, Saling for All by Spazio Vita Niguarda Cooperativa Sociale Onlus and Poseidon 2.0 by vEyes Onlus. 
 
The 28 projects with a local impact that have been awarded funding in crowdfunding mode on the OSO - Ogni Sport Oltre platform, to which the Vodafone Italia Foundation will contribute by doubling the amounts donated upon reaching 50% of the total requested, are available at this link http://www.vodafone.it/portal/Vodafone-Italia/Fondazione/Progetti-ammessi-al-finanziamento
 
The Vodafone Foundation has also selected four other projects, due to their strong awareness-raising impact on the integration and dissemination of sporting practice especially towards the world of young people and schools. 
 
Games for Inclusion of ASD Special Olympics Italia Onlus which offers educational courses aimed at schools for students with intellectual-relational disabilities; 
Route 22, of the ADS Project 22 which will document the journey to northern Europe of Andrea Devicenzi Massimo Spagnoli, both athletes with disabilities, through a documentary that will be told on the OSO platform and through dissemination in more than 100 middle and high schools; 
Objective 3, the project promoted by Alex Zanardi to identify motivated athletes to be guided and trained to get to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games; 
Games Without Barriers Rome 2017, organized byart4sport ONLUS association born from the story of Bebe Vio, to promote Paralympic sport and the integration between disabled and able-bodied children; 
 
The project was carried out in collaboration with the CIP – The Italian Paralympic Committee.  The main Partners of Oso - Ogni Sport Oltre, to date are Huawei Italia and the CON IL SUD Foundation, who have embraced the cause of the Vodafone Foundation, supporting the project and helping to create a network for the creation of this digital community.
