Sparkle: in Sicily the Mediterranean hub that focuses on young people

Sparkle, a Tim group company that manages international fiber cable connections, has hired 12 young graduates and undergraduates in the Palermo and Catania offices.

These are telecommunications and IT engineers, active in the ICT and Network divisions, who will be responsible for managing the transmission platforms supporting the Sparkle network and submarine cable systems, as well as managing the infrastructures and platforms for automation, programmability and virtualization of network functions.

"Sicily has been a strategic area for Sparkle for years, through the two poles of Palermo and Catania, confirming its vocation as a hub of the Mediterranean - reads a note from the company - the heart of technological innovation and a gateway for trade Internet from and to Europe for Africa, the Middle East and Asia”.

The capital of the region hosts the Sicily Hub, a neutral data center which aims to establish itself as the main hub for Internet traffic in the Mediterranean thanks to its proximity to North Africa and the Middle East and the connection with all the cable landing stations in Sicily.

The Sicily Lab, a data center and technological innovation laboratory, is located in Catania.
