Inflation continues to rise in Spain, which indeed in August it recorded a notable surge to 2,7% on the year, from 2,2% in July and from 1,8% in June. This was announced by the Iberian National Institute of Statistics (INE) on the basis of provisional data.

The institute did not provide other details on this figure, calculated on the basis of figures harmonized with those of the European Union, but underlined that “the result is mainly due to the increase in fuel and lubricant prices”, a phenomenon that will accentuate when the Spanish VAT will increase by three percentage points, from 18% to 21% on September XNUMXst.
