The Spanish GDP, according to data from the National Institute of Spain (INE), recorded an increase of 0,4% in the first quarter, compared to +0,2% in the previous quarter – This is the fastest growth rate of the last six years.

The Spanish economy continues to grow, at an ever faster pace. The value of GDP for the first quarter, announced by the National Institute of Spain (INE), in fact marks an increase on a quarterly basis of 0,4% compared to +0,2% in the previous quarter, confirming the preliminary estimate released on 30 last April and resulting in perfect line with market expectations.

This is the fastest rate of growth in the past six years. On an annual basis, gross domestic product instead recorded an increase of 0,5%, compared to +0,6% in the first reading, up from -0,2% in the fourth quarter. Analysts' expectations were for +0,6%.
