The number of unemployed decreased in November in Spain of 2.475 people, equal to -0,5% compared to October. This is the first reduction in the month of November since 1997, the year in which the statistical survey began, according to data released today by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

The total number of unemployed in November is 4.808.908 people. On an annual basis, unemployment fell by 98.909 people, or 2,02%.

From January to November, 38.723 fewer people were unemployed in Spain, although compared to the same period in 2012, the number of unemployed increased by 485.458 people.

However, in the same month of November, the number of social security members decreased by 66.829 people compared to October, equal to -0,41%, so that the total number of members stands at 16.293.543 people. According to ministerial sources, "we are getting ever closer to the end of the net destruction of jobs".
