The unemployment rate in Spain has dropped drastically. In the second quarter of 2014, the percentage of the unemployed out of the active population stood at 24,5%, a significant decrease from 25,9% in the previous quarter.
This is the lowest level for the Iberian country since the second quarter of 2012. The total number of employed people, according to data released today by the Spanish National Institute of Statistics, increased by 402.400 people in the second quarter, the largest increase since the second quarter of 2005. In seasonally adjusted terms, employment increased by 1,03 percent from the previous quarter.
